A Couple of Bits

Hi, hope everyone has had a good day. Here's a couple of bits I made last night. I wanted to try out my new boarder stamps and tried something basic with no image stamps...

And a little altered book. Unfortunately the beautiful pink ribbon hasn't photographed very well. I haven't decided yet what to use the book for yet, but I'm sure I'l find a good use for it.

Thanks for stopping by :-)x

Cute Card Thursday - People

Well I finally did it, my card for Cute Card Thursday - People.

I knew if I went back to it, it would come together eventually. I used Pink Petticoat papers and the image is Lola - Pink Petticoat. I made her trousers to match the leopard skin papers and gave her handbag a little bit of bling..

Tilda + Friends ATC - Blue + Yellow

Hi everyone I'm back, but slowly does it... I'd like to say a big thankyou to everyone for your lovely get well wishes. Although my hand is better, I'm not a 100% so I will take it slow.. so I apologise now if I cant round to leaving a message for everyone on this challenge. I tried to make a card for Cute Card Thursday but gave up in the end after about 5 attempts... arrrhh !!! just couldn't get it right. I know when Im feeling this its best to give up and try another day, so hopefully I'll be back later with something.

But I did make this for Tilda + Friends ATC Challenge - Blue + Yellow. I was inspired by Becky's RAK ATC to do some stitching, and had such fun, it brought back memories of when I was young stitching with my nan...

Here's what I made:

The papers are Pink Petticoat, the ribbon and button is from my stash.. love this flower button.

PTW - Template

Oh my what a day, first day back to work and with less than 5 hours sleep being up half the night, I struggled to get through the day. I have a long term repetative strain/arthritis in my right hand and think I must have over done it this long weekend making cards and blogging. So this post is probably going to be the only one for a few days as I need to rest it, as I cant do that at work. :-(

So if there's any type error's please forgive me as I'm doing this left handed.

I made this card last night for Papertake Weekly Challenge - Template, but didn't get a chance to post it. I'm loving this template, thanks to Kathrina for setting this challenge. Sorry I didn't slant the centre pieces - hope this is ok.

Here's the sketch:

When I started this card, as I'd seen it on Kim's blog before the post was on PTW and decided to do something different - no pink ...... Yes you read this correct, no pink, and thought I'd make a black + white card which I haven't done in ages. Then when I just went on PTW I saw Dawn had made a b+w too, but I'm sure she'll not mind, as mine is no comparision - her's is just sooooo fabulous, a piece of art is what describes it best, lol.

Anyway enough rambling as this is tricky enough left handed as it is. I'm going to apologise now if I cant view everyone's blogs tonight, but will sure to be back once my hand is better.

Thanks for stopping by :-)x

My Paper World - Sketch # 7

I had a go today at the sketch on My Paper World - Sketch # 7, I've visited this blog often but never found the time to do any of the challenges. I had so much fun with this challenge, I made 2 card, I gues you could say I got carried away.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my cards, the first I was just playing around, Im not sure I like it that much. I love the flower papers from Prima Hybrid but wasn't sure they went very well with the other papers.

So I made a second card which I used my Bubbly Images from Pink Petticoat to make my mums best friend (who I've known since I was a baby) who's birthday it is in a few weeks.

(Another) Tilda + Co Challenge - Sketch

I was playing around with this last night, but didn't get a chance to finish this one. I thought that Shary's idea at doing ATC's for this challenge was great, so I had a go.

Here's my ATC - hope you like it :-)x

Playing with New Stamps

I've had a chance to play today with some new stamps, I have recently brought alot of new stamps but unfortunately didn't have enough time to play with them all. So here's a couple I did manage to do.

This one is for my mum, as she's not feeling well at the moment and hope this would cheer her up. The stamp is from Pink Cat Studio and the papers I brought a little while ago (sorry can't remember name)

And this one, I was just playing around.

I used my Pebbles Inc - Pearlescent Chalks to colour these in, and although I love them as they are a little sparkly I'm still getting used to using them. I think I over did on her trousers, lol

Tilda + Co Challenge - Sketch

Hi everyone, hope your all having a lovely Easter and munching on lots of chocolate.

I had a bit of time on my own today while the boys where watching football and made this card for Tilda +Co Challenge - Template

Here's the template:

And here's my card I made, I'm sorry but the picture doesn't compliment the colours very well it does actually look better in the light. And Im still not getting the hang of photographing my picture - sorry. Hope you like it :-)x

Cute Card Thursday: All Creatures Great + Small, and Arty Girlz: Doodling

Wow what a lovely relaxing day I've had today, its so nice to have a few days off work and catch up on some cards. Hope your all having a nice relaxing time too.

I made this card for 2 challenges, Cute Card Thursday- All Creatures Great + Small and Arty Girlz Challenge - Doodling.

I used my yummy stamps from Pink Cat Studio and the colours, I was inspired by some new ribbon I brought yesterday. I must say Im please with the outcome, although very basic I did have fun with this, especially the doodling. Although I've not had much practice yet, as you'll see, maybe next time I'll use a finer pen.

The first is for my lovely nephew - Evan.

RLC #4 Brads and Eyelets and PTW

Hi everyone hope you all had a nice weekend. I made this card yesterday and it started out for Rainbow Lady's Challenge #4 Brads and Eyelets I've been meaning to do this one all weekend but just didn't find the time or inspiration. Then I saw yesterdays challenge at Papertake Weekly - Weather and it ended up a a double challenge.

I started of with these papers Double Take - Sugar Plum Series that I haven't used for ages and got the inspiration to use them again by Han. Thanks Han I forgot I had these. The image and sentiment is from PP which I used to make a Summer Greeting. As like most people Im fed up with this Cold, Windy weather we're having lately and cant wait for some beautiful summer sunshine.

Hope you like it and its ok for both challenges.

Cute Card Thursday #1 New Beginning

To celebrate the launch of the new site Cute Card Thursday I couldn't resist participating in this great challenge and they also have some candy up for grabs.

The theme is new beginnings or 1st's. This could be new baby, new home, new job, wedding or anything else 'new' or any other 1st you can think of.

I found this one tricky, as I'm only starting out, and couldn't think of anything appropriate in my stamp collection for this theme. Then it came to me - 1st Anniversay, for which I used a Penny Black Stamp from the Love Collection. Im sorry girls but its pink again.... The papers are Pinkie Pops and the posies are from Doodlebug Design.

Altered Art - Flowery Tin

Hi hope you all had a good weekend and loving this wonderful weather we're having just lately.... not!!! LOL, I dont think it stopped raining all day, we even had some thunder & lighting in the mix. Roll on the sunshine xx

Well although the weekend was a nice relaxing one, I didn't feel much up to do any challenges, thought I'd have a go at something elso. So decide to decorate one of the two tins I brought whilst shopping with mum last weekend. So here it is before

I wanted this one to put all my flowers in as Im getting a bit of a collection and there just in bags at the moment and thought this nice tin would be good storage for them. I decide to use some different papers that I've had a while and not used yet. Dovercraft - Amethyst Floral Prints. I do like these papers, but think my tin turned out with too much floral... I'm still not sure I like it, and I think the next one wil be less .... um, floral

So here it is:

Fantasy Film

I went to a Workshop this week at my local craft shop and made a couple of cards with Fantasy Film. I don't know if any of you have used it before but it was great fun. We inked up the butterfly stamp and then placed the fantasy film on the inked stamp, covered it with greaseproof paper then ironed it - yes ironed it (only for about 30 seconds). This we did 3 times and then cut out, layering the butterfly. We then glued the first image to the card and then layered each section with silicon glue on the inside edge of the wings, to add the depth to the butterfly. The fantasy film gives off different colours effected by the light.
So these are the two cards I made - nothing like I would normally make, but that's why I enjoy the work shops it gets me out of my comfort zone.

This one is my favourite as I liked the design better - little window and the stamped flower image on the inside paper.

And the inside:

Rainbow Lady's Challenge 3 - Pockets

Hi hope your all having a good weekend. I started this afternoon off planning to make a card for my nephew for Easter, then gave up as I was getting nowhere. So then I decided to try my hand at Raindow Lady's Challenge 3 - Pockets It was not what I was going to do originally but ended with Pink and Black as I had made a small bookmark the other day just for fun and this was also Pink and Black, so I thought I'd incorporate the colours of this on my card. After much frustation I ended with this

I'm still not sure I like it very much and think I must have lost my mogo today, maybe I'll find it tomorrow :-)x

My New Blog Header

Im so excited I have a new blog header and this was designed by the lovely Jo at Siggi Shop. Oh my what a fast service she has too, just wonderful. Why not check out her wonderful work here which you'll aslo find is very good value for money too.
Thanks Jo :-)x

Double Challenge

Hi hope you've all had a good day.

I started to make a card for Papertake Weekly - 'Be There Or Be Square' and whilst making it thought I'd include Daring Card Makers - 'A Little Hand Stitching'. This was a first for me.

I thought I'd use my new stamp by PennyBlack and make something Pink (sorry girls, it's very Pink, lol) Also thought I'd give myself a night off Pink Petticoat and used some backing paper I've had a while but can't remember where its from (sorry). I have also used my new Cuttlebug Machine (loving this lots) and embossed the pink paper behind the stamp.

My first card for a long time with no PP, ribbon, flowers and brads.

Here's my card - Enjoy :-)x

Sorry about the photography - bit wonky again, lol :-)x

Tilda and Co - Spring Is In The Air

Hey all, hope you all had a good weekend. I went to see my mum all weekend so didn't manage to get any blogging and crafting done, but it was lovely to see my mum and we spent some quality time together.

I was very sneaky though (to get my fix of crafting) I asked my mum to meet me in a lovely little village called 'Olney' which is only half another from hers, as there was a craft shop I wanted to visit. Of course she didnt mind and I brought a couple of bits and we also had an idea to make a Scrap Book for my Auntie (mums sister) whos 60th birthday it is in April, so stocked up on some goodies, I will post the SB later. We had a lovely girlie day, and a good day was had by all. And then I took her to her favourite Garden Centre on Sunday (which is massive - and can spent at least 3-4 hours there) and we had another lovely day shopping and lunch.

Ok enough about my weekend, onto this weeks Challenge at 'Tilda and Co' - Spring Is In The Air

You could make an Easter card, a gift box for Easter eggs or other goodies, alter a flowerpot for some spring flowers or a spring themed card or layout. Absolutely anything, as long as it has at least one Magnolia stamped image and follows the theme!

I had a bit of trouble with this one as I don't have any Tilda Easter stamps, so I made something with Spring colours and flowers. This Tilda was sent to me by a very lovely blogger friend (you know who you are, lol) thanks :-)x

I got there in the end, but couldn't resist using my lovely 'dotty' papers again and my lovely large brads from Poppicrafts.
Here's my card.
